Frequently asked questions
- How does the log decide what’s "due soon"?
- The status is based on the date you set for the service. A date in the past is "Done". A date in the future is "Scheduled" — turning "Upcoming" (amber) within a month, and "Soon" (red) within a week. Entries you marked as Done stay Done; the log never silently re-flags them.
- Can I log a service that isn’t in the standard list?
- Yes. Pick "Other…" from the service dropdown and type your own — for example "Detailing", "Wheel alignment" or "Software update". It saves with the same date, cost and odometer fields as the standard services.
- Do I have to follow the maintenance intervals shown?
- No. The intervals are general guidelines, not manufacturer-specific recommendations. Always follow your owner’s manual for the exact schedule your vehicle requires.
- Is my maintenance history private?
- Yes. Everything is stored only in your browser’s local storage — no account, no upload, nothing leaves your device. Use Export CSV if you want a backup.
